"Ready Player One" Ventures into the Metaverse

Ready Player One - Warner Bros

Thanks to the innovative efforts of Readyverse Studios. This new venture, a collaboration between the novel's author Ernest Cline and film producer Dan Farah, aims to transform the beloved story into an expansive metaverse experience.

Partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery, Readyverse Studios plans to launch this virtual world in 2024, focusing on web3 technology. The project not only includes the adaptation of "Ready Player One" but also secures exclusive rights for future works by Cline.

Vision for the Metaverse:

  • The company envisions creating a multi-world, interoperable metaverse experience. This virtual space will reflect the expansive and interactive universe depicted in both the "Ready Player One" novel and its film adaptation.

Ernest Cline's Perspective:

  • Cline expressed excitement about the rapid advancement of technology that makes this project possible. He believes that with the expertise of Futureverse and the team at Readyverse Studios, the metaverse will be a realization of the visionary world he created, resonating with the characters Wade Watts and James Halliday from his novel.

The “Ready Player One” film, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tye Sheridan as hero Wade Watts, grossed $583 million at the global box office.

AROUND THE WORLD OF AI

Apple's NEW Multimodal AI Outperforms GPT-4

Apple Ferret AI

Apple has recently unveiled its new multimodal AI system, codenamed "Ferret." This innovative AI outshines OpenAI's GPT-4, particularly in understanding and interpreting visual information. Ferret represents a significant leap in the field of computer vision, positioning Apple as a formidable player in the AI landscape.

✔What makes Ferret unique?
It uses a visual recognition model called CLIP ViT to break down visual information, while simultaneously processing any textual data provided. This dual capability allows Ferret to understand and discuss both pictures and words in a comprehensive manner.

💡Real-World Applications
Ferret's advanced capabilities make it highly suitable for applications like augmented reality, medical diagnosis, and scientific research. Its ability to process both words and images effectively opens up possibilities for detailed image labeling and the development of advanced visual chatbots.

NVIDIA ACE Revolutionizing Game Characters with Generative AI

NVIDIA ACE for Games

The video presents an intriguing demo set in a ramen shop, featuring two AI game characters: Jin, a returning character, and Nova, a cybersecurity expert in a cyberpunk-themed world. The interaction between Jin and Nova showcases the advanced capabilities of the technology, highlighting how these characters can engage in a spontaneously generated conversation.

AI in action:
One of the most striking aspects of this demo is the demonstration of game characters interacting with their environment in real-time, based on the conversation. This is made possible by Convai's latest framework, which allows game characters to fetch objects and navigate the world dynamically. This level of interaction was previously unattainable in digital character design and paves the way for more immersive gaming experiences.

The future:
The ability to create characters that can engage in dynamic, contextually relevant conversations and interact with their environment marks a new era in game design.

THOUGHT PROVOKING

Rick Rubin on Andrew Huberman’s Podcast

Many artists need to hear this. I particularly like the idea of rethinking of your art as a diary entry. “Everything I make is a diary entry. The beauty of a diary entry is… you can’t tell me it’s not good enough… everything we make can be that.” Starts at 29:14

Have a great day.
